A Little Bit . . . About Imagining What Might Have Been

Ashley Mabbitt is reading a favorite poem from her new book, A Self, a Frame, a Look in Through—in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (no one seemed to mind!). In this particular piece, she imagines a portrait that might once have existed, but can no longer be found.

From the galleries of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, the poet Ashley Mabbitt reads about an imagined portrait—from her new book of poems, A Self, a Frame, a Look in Through.

We are grateful to the South Florida Poetry Journal for first publishing this poem. Ashley’s new book is available through Kelsay Books and Amazon.
